Welcome to the WSU Commencement Website
Commencement marks the culmination of your college experience and celebrates the beginning of very promising futures. For those graduates who wish to participate in the May 2016 Commencement ceremonies, please read the information contained in this site to ensure you have a memorable experience.
Be sure to follow all degree application deadlines and make sure you apply for the term in which you will be completing your degree requirements. Participating in the commencement ceremony does not constitute graduation or that you have successfully completed your degree requirements. APPLY FOR YOUR DEGREE
All degree candidates must apply to have their degrees certified and to be eligible to participate in Commencement. To submit an application, log into Academica, click on the "Student" tab, and select "Apply for Degree or Certificate" from the Student Records menu. There is a $40 non-refundable certification fee that must be paid before your application for degree certification can be considered. You will not have to pay the $40 fee if you've paid the $250 matriculation fee that was instituted in 2014 for new students to the university. If you need to pay the fee, you will be prompted to do so. Payment must be made at the time of application either by credit card or electronic check. If you are currently registered, you may also choose to add the fee to your student account. NOTE: You will have to apply and pay the $40 fee again if you do not complete your degree requirements in the term of application so please make sure to check with your advisor before applying. Effective Fall 2014, there is not longer an application fee for Graduate, Law and PharmD students.

If you will be completing your degree requirements in the Spring/Summer 2016 term and would like to participate in the May 2016 Commencement ceremony the deadline to complete the Degree Application through Academica is Friday, March 11, 2016. Competing the online application by this date will ensure your eligibility to participate in the May 2016 Commencement ceremony; you will be included on the graduate access pass/guest tickets distribution list and your name will be listed in the program book. If you apply between March 12 and April 22 you may still participate in the ceremony but your name will not be listed in the program book.
